1 Reason for travel (domestic; professional; education)

I was on a call the other day, zooming in. Someone said “it’s like the cars that were made behind the Iron Curtain – to look the part, but play differently’.

I have been thinking about that statement since, in a time warp of my own making. Or perhaps, in a collapse, of sorts. I like Trabants and Dacias and Ladas; I became a teenager around them. They do not feel of the past to me.

2 Ensuring basic needs

Something about precaution as aesthetic intervention, or registers of state concern, but I am stuck on scale.

I grew up in a bloc. In blocs, you hear everything. There is a lot of error in how the sound moves. It is a very particular collectivity of sounds. Sometimes, you over-hear or eavesdrop and at others, the sound merges, and you forget it wasn’t your door that slammed. But when the electricity went off, it did so for everyone.

3 Medical assistance that cannot be postponed or conducted remotely

Someone else said recently, ‘we have all these possibilities of exercising crafts from the era of the Cold War’. What a funny way to loop time.

My listening is tuned in to micro-performances, though. Squeaky floor. A window not closed properly. The sound of rain. The echoes of spring. To look the part, but play differently.

4 Justifiable reasons

Something like:

Did you know them?

How are you?

Do you have everything you need?

Quarantine progress

Please include number of cases

How is it, over there?

Do you have a garden?

Before, after

New day

New hour

Time again

Low battery

What’s your workout?

Did you see?

5 Agricultural work

The one I least like: just like; reminds me of.

6. Blood donations, or else, acquisition of goods for professional delivery

In blocs, you can sometimes use the balcony space as respite. You often cover it up, to give the option of opening out. Sometimes, it feels more private. What a funny way to loop time.
